CHM 201 - Organic Chemistry I (4 Credits) This course involves the systematic study of the compounds of carbon, including their structure, properties, preparation and typical reactions. Classes of compounds studied include aliphatic hydrocarbons, alkyl halides, alcohols, ethers and epoxides. Lecture Hours: 39. Laboratory Hours: 39. Prerequisite(s): CHM 106 with a grade of “C” or better or permission of the department head. Laboratory Fee: $30. Usually offered in the fall.
