COM 200 - Interpersonal Communication (3 Credits) This course explores the basic elements and theories of interpersonal communication and provides a foundation for effective communication in personal and professional relationships. Aspects of interpersonal communication are studied, including perception, self-concept, verbal and nonverbal communication, listening, intercultural and gender communication, and conflict management. The course covers interpersonal communication theory and the application of communication strategies used in daily interactions that can be used to develop, maintain and improve relationships. Lecture Hours: 39. Prerequisite(s): ENG 101 with a grade of “C” or better. Usually offered in the fall and spring.
