BMT 128 - Foundations of Global Financial Tech (3 Credits)


This course introduces financial technology and explores its impact on the modern economy. Topics include artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, digital payments, digital assets and how these technologies are reshaping businesses, industries and economies. Other topics include cybersecurity, global regulatory frameworks and ethical considerations such as consumer protection. Lecture Hours: 39. Prerequisite(s): ENG 095 or ENG 097 with a grade of ‘C’ or better, an acceptable reading placement test score, or permission of the department head. Usually offered in the fall.
