MTH 099 - Intermediate Algebra (4 Credits) This course is designed to help students develop the algebra skills needed for advanced college-level mathematics. A review of factoring and manipulation of rational expressions is provided. Topics include graphing a variety of functions, working with radicals, including complex numbers, and solving equations and inequalities. Logarithmic and exponential functions are introduced. This course is taught in a computer laboratory to give students maximum hands-on learning opportunities while having the benefits of teacher instruction. Lecture Hours: 39. Laboratory Hours: 26. Prerequisite(s): MTH 092 with a grade of “C” or better, an acceptable mathematics placement test score or permission of the department head. Laboratory Fee: $15. Usually offered in the fall, spring and summer.
