EMS 208 - Emergency Cardiology (3 Credits) This course is designed to prepare students to manage cardiovascular emergencies most often seen by advanced EMS providers. Topics include three-lead and 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation, ECG dysrhythmia management, acute myocardial infarction, advanced coronary syndromes and stroke. Lecture Hours: 39. Laboratory Hours: 24. Clinical Hours: 24. Prerequisite(s): EMS 201 with a grade of “C” or better or permission of the department head. Course Fee: $60. Laboratory Fee: $55. Usually offered in the spring.
