NUR 121 - Maternal-Child Nursing (6 Credits) This course incorporates the use of the nursing process as a method of determining the nursing actions needed to meet the universal, developmental and therapeutic self-care needs of childbearing families. Topics include the normal processes of childbearing and child development, as well as common and complex obstetrical and child development health problems. Related pharmacology is also presented. Skill attainment is emphasized through clinical laboratory experiences with maternal, newborn and pediatric patients. Lecture Hours: 52. Clinical Hours: 156. Prerequisite(s): NUR 110 and NUR 111 with grades of “C” or better or permission of the department head. Corequisite(s): PSY 251 . Course Fee: $120. Laboratory Fee: $22. Insurance Fee: $18.
