EMS 240 - Crisis Operations (2 Credits)

This course prepares students to effectively manage stressful emergencies such as mass casualty accidents. Topics include EMS roles and responsibilities, medical/legal aspects of EMS, wellness, ethics, resource management, ambulance operations, medical incident command, rescue awareness, hazardous materials incidents and crime scene awareness. Lecture Hours: 30. Laboratory Hours: 8. Prerequisite(s): EMS 151 with a grade of “C” or better and permission of the department head. Course Fee: $40. Laboratory Fee: $55. Materials Fee: $100.
