IDS 101 - Leadership Development (1 Credit) This course provides students with an opportunity to explore the concept of leadership and to develop and improve their own leadership skills. The course integrates readings from the humanities, experiential exercises, film analysis and contemporary readings on leadership. Students who take this course gain a basic understanding of the concept of leadership while developing a personal philosophy of leadership and an awareness of the moral and ethical responsibilities of those who exercise leadership. Students have the opportunity to develop skills essential for the exercise of leadership through study, observation, dialogue and shared analysis, reflection and application. Lecture Hours: 15. Prerequisite(s): ENG 101 with a grade of “C” or better. Usually offered in the spring.
