OTA 210 - OT Intervention: Adult Physical Health (3 Credits) This course provides students with the theory and application of occupational therapy treatment techniques using functional occupations for patients who have physical dysfunctions that affect participation and health through adulthood and geriatrics. This course is designed to help students develop skill and proficiency in treatment techniques, including improving activities of daily living, range of motion, muscle strengthening, splinting, physical agent modalities, positioning, adaptive equipment, technology devices, sensory intervention, cognitive re-training and manual therapy techniques. Lecture, fieldwork clinical and laboratory practice provide learning opportunities for students in this course. Lecture Hours: 26. Laboratory Hours: 26. Clinical Hours: 20. Prerequisite(s): OTA 170 and OTA 175 or permission of the department head. Course Fee: $60. Laboratory Fee: $25. Insurance Fee: $18. Usually offered in the fall.
