EGR 202 - Statics (3 Credits) This course provides students with a clear and thorough presentation of the vector-based treatment of the theory and application of engineering statics. Students study the equilibrium of stationary bodies under various forces. Topics include forces, moments, couples, center of gravity, friction, moment of inertia and the structural analysis of frames and machines. Lecture Hours: 39. Prerequisite(s): MTH 201 with grades of “C” or better. Corequisite(s): PHY 141 or permission of the department head. Usually offered in the fall.
