This program provides students with a foundation in the biological, physical and social sciences as they relate to human health. This program is designed for individuals seeking entry into a health care profession or planning to transfer into bachelor’s degree programs in fields such as health sciences, public health or health administration.

Graduates of this program should be able to: - Explain fundamental concepts in human anatomy, physiology, microbiology and chemistry as they relate to health and disease;
- Apply the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of an entry level health care professional;
- Recognize individual and cultural differences in all aspects of health care;
- Compose written documents and deliver oral presentations that summarize scientific concepts for academic and health care audiences;
- Identify risk factors for disease and recommend strategies for prevention based on current evidence; and
- Prepare for transfer into a bachelor’s program in health sciences.
