Learning Outcomes
Graduates of this program should be able to:
- Differentiate the institutions, laws and theories that comprise the U.S. legal system;
- Apply investigative principles and techniques used in the field of criminal investigation;
- Explain the nature and causes of crime and victimization;
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills that are used with a range of client populations, colleagues and members of the community;
- Explain the importance of practicing safe and ethical behavior while managing police operations, investigations and public safety; and
- Demonstrate competence with objectives of the Maryland Police Training Commission (ESCJA graduates).
