NUR 223 - Advanced Nursing II (6.5 Credits)

This course focuses on the nursing care of adults with self-care deficits and complex health problems. The nursing process, the best current evidence and critical thinking are used to meet the psychosocial, cultural and physiological needs of clients with complex health problems in a variety of health care settings and the community. Accountability for practice within the legal and ethical scope and framework of nursing is integrated into student-centered learning to help students develop leadership and management skills for the nurse as manager of care and delegator. Lecture Hours: 52. Clinical Hours: 195 on a rotating basis. Prerequisite(s): NUR 216 , NUR 222 , BIO 220 and ENG 151 with grades of “C” or better or permission of the department head.
