RDT 201 - Radiation Protection and Radiobiology (3 Credits) This course provides students with knowledge of the biologic processes that occur as a result of interaction with ionizing radiation. The fundamentals of radiation protection for personnel, patients and the public are discussed, including structural requirements, personnel monitoring, gonadal shielding and other factors that affect the amount of radiation exposure during diagnostic procedures. Lecture Hours: 39. Prerequisite(s): RDT 104 and RDT 154 with grades of “C” or better or permission of the department head. Course Fee: $40. Usually offered in the fall.
