OTA 120 - Kinesiology for the OTA (3 Credits)


This course covers the structure and function of the human body to enable students to analyze human motion across the lifespan and relate human motion and performance to daily occupations. Human motion is analyzed in relation to the dynamics of occupation and activity. The focus is on the interaction of occupation, performance skills, performance patterns, activity demands, contexts and environments, and individual factors. Techniques of analyzing human motion are taught, including range of motion measurement, manual muscle testing and sensory testing. Lecture Hours: 26. Laboratory Hours: 26.
