Learning Outcomes
Graduates of this program should be able to:
- Use an ethical framework and an understanding of legal constraints to make decisions as a criminal justice professional;
- Develop specialized technical knowledge and skills relevant to sub-specialties in the field of criminal justice to ensure public safety;
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills required of law enforcement and correctional professionals;
- Apply critical-thinking skills and logic to analyze and solve a variety of complex problems in the criminal justice environment;
- Manage and administer the proper care, supervision and rehabilitation of diverse offender populations within a variety of correctional and law enforcement settings including probation and parole; and
- Differentiate the institutions, law and theories that comprise the U.S. criminal justice system.
